Some college sports.
The older I have gotten the more tolerable and interesting I have found pro/collegiate sports to be. I find it more entertaining especially when you learn about the stats and what is going on in the game (pick and roll, etc.) and also there is a fun communal aspect to it. Heavy on the communal side for me was the Ramblers run in the March Madness. In the Chicago sports world nothing else at this current time was going on that was in any way interesting. We are about a month out from the NFL draft, the Bulls are tanking for picks, the Blackhawks have gotten really old and are using accountants to tend the net for them, and spring training baseball is meaningless and kind of boring beyond a few innings. But the Loyola Ramblers had a great run in this past March Madness.
They played efficient defense, offense, and made some clutch shots when it really mattered. They went way beyond what a Cinderella team usually does in the tournament and won the whole South/Atlanta region and made it to the final four! But that run came to an end then against Michigan, who then lost to Villanova in the Championship game. Villanova were totally dominant the whole tournament, winning every game by at least 10+ points. I wonder if Loyola has the chance to become a perennial favorite to get into the tournament or if this is just another case of what the Northwestern Wildcats did last year.
